‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Friday 15th May 2020

It's Friday!! Yipee!  Hi, Year 5.  We're almost there for this week.  I just want to say a big thank you to you all for putting that extra effort in to doing your work.  I know it must be a challenge at times, especially when the weather is lovely and sunny.  So, well done and enjoy the weekend  (after the work obviously!) xxx

Maths

Mental Maths: Check out the following link which should take you to a game that will help you to revise multiples and factors.

LO: Estimating Capacity

Work through slides 1 - 9 of the PowerPoint on estimating capacity. Then, choose from a one, two or three star activity sheet.  Answers are at the bottom.

English

Today, have a go at improving the simple sentences provided on the sheet.  Look at the different techniques that you could use (or a combination of them) and have a go.  There is an example at the bottom of the page.  Always think about decriptive language and good sentence openers.

Science

Today, we will be looking at the different parts of a plant, identifying both the male and female parts.  Look at the PowerPoint attached.  Don't worry if you don't have a plant in front of you.  The diagrams will show you the parts.

After, look at the activity sheets (pages 2 and 4) and have a go at labelling the different parts of a plant.  You will find the answers on page 1 and 3.
