Friday 3rd April
Hi. Finally, the last day of a very strange term! I hope you are all getting used to this online learning. I know it can't be easy but you have been stars as always and continue to make me feel very proud.
Maths: Go to Topmarks Speed Challenge https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 and test yourself on multiplication and division facts.
Look at the PowerPoint slides 12 - 18. Open the middle file 'RPS Rounding Decimals' and choose an activity - either 1, 2 or 3*. Answers at the bottom!
English: Newspaper articles use both direct and indirect (or reported) speech. Read through the PowerPoint - Direct and reported speech - to help you to understand the difference. Now look at examples of newspaper quotes (in the file 'Quotes for a newspaper article') that could be used in an article on finding yeti footprints. Have a go at using the formula to write your own newspaper quotes.
Science: Last week, we looked at the life cycle of insects that metamophose. This week, we are looking at insects that don't complete metamorphosis. Read through the PowerPoint - Lifecycles (slides 8 - 10). Look at the first page of the activity sheet 'Incomplete metamorphosis' and read about the stages of a dragonfly. Use the final sheet to write the life cycle of another incomplete metamorphosing insect such as a cricket or cockroach.
