‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Friday 5th June

It's Fantastic Friday!

Well done superstars, you've done another week!

Rain

  • The sunshine has left us for a bit and we had some rain this week.

  • Why do we need the rain?

  • In some cultures they ask for the rain to come by performing a special rain dance.

  • rain dance is a special dance. It is performed by people who believe it will cause rain and keep their harvest safe. Many different types of "rain dances" can be found in many cultures, from Ancient Egypt to certain Native American tribes.

  • Listen to this Native American raindance, the performers are using their voices but you can hear something else too. Listen carefully and see if you can hear the instrument being played.

  • Can you make up your own rain dance?

Start with the phase 2 sets and then move onto phase 3 if you are ready.

How to play

  • Make the word shown using letters on the viking shields.

  • Click the wave to see if you are right.

  • Listen for the next word. Which letters can you keep and which do you need to swap?

  • Keep going, making new words until you arrive back at the first word. You can then shout 'full circle'!
