‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Monday 18th May

It's Monday!

Good morning everyone, we hope that you had a wondeful weekend and that you and your families are all safe and well.

Maths: Oak National Academy - Exploring Place Value

  • This is a great lesson that introduces place value for those that are ready for it.

This week at school is usually our sports week so some of our suggested activities this week are sporty.

Target game

  • Get a ball, preferably a small one or a beanbag or small soft toy that you don't mind throwing.

  • You also need some targets - if you have chalk you could draw some circles on the wall or ground, or you could have a bucket or box to aim for.

  • Start quite close and use an underarm throw to aim for your target.  If you have drawn a circle in needs to bounce inside the circle. Don't be tempted to throw it overarm!

  • See if you can hit your target 5 times.

  • When you can move a little further away from the target.

  • You could have a few targets each worth a different number of points. See how many points you can get with 5 throws. You will need to find a way to keep a score.

Supermarket Zoo

  • Today's story is all about a rather strange trip to the supermarket

  • Listen and watch the story. Keep watching right to the end as there are some suggested activities for you to try.
