                       Good Morning Year 5

Welcome back to our final half term!  It seems like such a long time ago since I last saw you all. I hope you are all well and that you have enjoyed the glorious weather over the past week, remembering, of course, to stay at a safe distance from others to ensure our whole community remains safe. I have been cycling with my family and had the paddling pool out - lots! Today is my daughter's birthday so even though we can't do a great deal, we have a very special day planned!

Maths

Mental Maths: Spend 10 - 15 minutes on TTRS or timestables/division facts on Hit the Button https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

LO: Recognise the difference between acute, obtuse and reflex angles

Work through the PowerPoint slides which recap on the differences between types of angles.  After, choose a one, two or three star activity to practise what you have learnt.  Remember to check your answers (final  sheet).

English

Spelling: Please read through the PowerPoint and have a go at the spelling activities to help you to spell words ending in ment, ness and ful.

Today, read Chapter 3 in Kensuke's Kingdom.  After, choose from the one or two star questions on the first half of the chapter (two star being the more challenging questions).  Answers are provided for both sheets.

Humanities

Hello everyone. Today we're taking a closer look at the home countries of the two main characters and researching the  similarities and differences between the United Kingdom and Japan.
