‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Monday 30th March

It's nearly Easter! Hope you all had an enjoyable week last week and feel like you are starting to settle into your new routines. Keep trying hard this week and learning lots of new things!

If you haven't already, have a look at our blog post. I have been really enjoying reading all the new things you have been learning over the last week.

Maths

We are continuing this week with our topic of decimals. Sometimes decimals can be tricky so try your best.

For todays starter, I thought we could have a go at our times tables quiz. You know how this works so get your pencil and book and write 1 to 10. When you're ready click the link, choose your level, click multiplication the choose the tables which you think you need a little more practise on.

For our maths today, we are going to continue working on the White Rose Hub website. We are now up to Week 1 - Lesson 4 - Tenths on a number line. Tomorrow there will be some questions so you can practise all this new learning you have been completed so far in maths!

English

Write some sentences which you could use in your narrative. Use the progression of sentences to help you with the structure. Today I am looking for 'Verb, person' sentences! If you didn't manage to find the progression of sentences on Thursday, they are at the bottom of this page too.

Spellings / Guided Reading

Remember to keep practising your spellings! Our new spellings for this week are on the Year 4 page and at the bottom of this page. Why not try writing them in lots of different ways today. You could use bubble writing or try writing them in different sizes or you could write them using different colours.

The guided reading questions for this week have been uploaded to the Year 4 class page and at the bottom of this page. If you need a template for your book review, you can use this one below.

Art

On our last Friday in school, some of you may have started your tornado artwork. I know lots of you didn't finish and took them home with you. Take some time this afternoon to finish them off. If you haven't started yours yet, take a look at an example HERE and see if you can create your own piece of tornado art. Try to add texture or shading if you can. I look forward to seeing these when they are complete!

Don't forget about your project on rivers too!
