‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Monday 30th March

It's Monday!  smiley

It's week 2 of your special learning from home. You could start by singing our days of the week song and don't forget the months of the year song too. Can you remember all the words?

Let's sing 'Hello to the Children of the World'.

The Easter Story

Easter will be here soon. Maybe you have done some Easter crafts at home? The CBeebies 'Let's Celebrate' website has 3 short clips about Easter to watch.

Just before we left school we talked about Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey.  The people lay palm leaves on the ground.  By drawing around your hands can you make a palm tree like this?

We made an Easter Garden too.

Can you draw your own Easter garden?

Draw and label the following – cross, path, grass, stone, tomb

Try to put some of these words in a sentence.

Phonics

Speed sounds books and keyrings. Remember to keep going with the daily speed sounds lessons.

Visit the Phonics play website and play a game. It's free throughout March.

If your child reads with me on a Monday or Tuesday choose phase 2 games and you can try some phase 3 (We are working through phase 3 at the moment.)

If your child reads with me on a Wednesday or a Thusrday choose phase 2 games. Although this phase 3 game is suitable for everyone.

What about one of Andy's Wild Workouts over on the CBeebies i-player? They are really good fun to do too and might be a bit easier.

Have you done your Funky Fingers today? Join in with Mrs Thompson. (See Reception Home Learning home page.)

Did you see Emma's video of her doing a jigsaw? Have you got a jigsaw you can do? Orchard Toys have some ideas on their website for crafts, activities etc to keep you busy.

Don't forget to spend time playing too and to get outside if it is safe to do so and your grown-up says it's ok.

When you are outside what can you spot? Do any birds come and visit you or squirrels? Do the birds sound the same or different? Can your grown-up can help you to find out what the different birds are called?

Missing you all,

Mrs Rogers, Mrs Griffin and Mrs Thompson
