New Starters 2023

June 2023
Welcome to Excalibur Primary School. We are delighted that you have chosen our school and we look forward to meeting you soon.
What's going to happen next
We have written to you to let you know our induction arrangements for our new Reception Class of 2023. If you have not received anything then please contact the school. We will be offering two stay and play sessions for your child. One of which includes lunch. These visits take place later in June and July followed by special 'Teddy Bear's Picnic' in July, for you to accompany your child to. We will be holding an evening meeting for parents and carers in June. We will also endeavour to visit your child in their pre-school setting to meet them and to speak to their key worker.
Below you will find information about starting at our school. Please take time to look through everything as there is a lot of useful information about our school and the routines of the school day. There are two handbooks; one for you and one for your child. (You will have received the one for your child in your welcome letter.) Please share it with them. It may be useful to share it with them a few times between now and when they start school. There are also some information leaflets and activities that you can do to help your child get ready for school. You will also find a video we made to welcome a previous reception class.
At the bottom of this page you will find a video from 2020 showing our enviromment. We will make a new one soon. If you are unable to attend the parents and carers evening meeting we are planning to film this and upload to the website.
We have a really wonderful Early Years environment here at Excalibur and we can't wait for you to see it.

We strive to provide enrichment experiences for our children.

'Let's Get Ready For School'
Cheshire East Libraries have launched 'Let's Get Ready for School' an exciting initiative for families whose children will be starting primary school. They have created 10 different book bags each containing four picture books. The books have been specially selected to share with younger children, to help them cope with change and prepare them for school.
The bag also contains useful leaflets outlining some practical ideas for supporting children's communication at this important stage. The book nags are free to loan and available at your local library. They can also be reserved online at https://cheslive.koha-ptfs.co.uk/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl.
