SEN, Information Report and the School Local Offer

School Local Offer

What is ‘The Local Offer?’

The local offer was first introduced in the green paper (March 2011) as a local offer of all services available to support disabled children and children with varying levels of SEN and their families.

What will it do?

The Cheshire East framework will provide parents/ carers with the information about how to access services in their local area, and what they can expect from those services. With regard to Education, it will let parents/ carers of young people know how schools and colleges will support them and what they can expect across the local setting.

Who Publishes the Local Offer?

Schools and the local authority must publish a Local Offer which explains what support is offered.

Excalibur Primary School's Local Offer can be downloaded below.

We have a whole school approach to children with additional needs and/or disabilities.

We differentiate or personalise our curriculum to ensure that all children can access the teaching in our classrooms.

We have a special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO).  Currently this is Mrs Ling.  Her duties are to support the class teachers and ensure that all children have access to the curriculum and fulfil their potential.

In our school we have:

  • Quality First Teaching
  • Additional intervention in small groups
  • Individualised support

Any child in receipt of or being awarded funding will have an Education Health Care Plan.

The school's SEN policy and Information Report can be downloaded below.

Details of the support services for the parents of pupils with SEN can be found on the following link
