‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Thursday 18th June

Good Morning Year 4!

I hope you enjoyed the science activities this week!

Well done to everybody who has been using Prodigy this week. I can see lots of you have nearly completed all the questions I had set for this week. Well done! I wonder who will be on the Prodigy leader board on Monday?

There is an assembly today at 10am and the theme this week is 'Spread a Little Kindness' with, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. You will be able to watch it again afterwards by using the same link. Please ask before clicking on the link.

Maths

For our starter today, I have uploaded the times tables wheels. Please practise your times tables for at least 10 minutes. You can use the wheels, Times Tables Rockstars or a different way if you would prefer.

I was so pleased to read, on Seesaw, that so many of you have been enjoying the video lessons on Oak National Academy. Today, we will be learning about comparing and classifying 2d shapes.

English

Today, please work through the diary writing powerpoint. There are some activities you can work through as you are reading the information.

Next, please have a go at the 'Diary writing activity sheet'. You can choose to complete *, ** or ***. Today, you only need to complete the first page to plan your diary entry. We will be completing the next page tomorrow.

Remember, we will be writing a diary about a Victorian day at school. Use the notes you made from THIS LESSON to help you or to watch the video again.

PE

National Trust have created a list of '50 things to do before you're 11 3/4' and there are some fantastic things that can be done either at home or locally. Please see the document uploaded if you would like to have a go at this.

There are also two activities about heart rate which you might like to have a go at. The 'Heart Rate Activity' explains how you can calculate your heart rate in beats per minute (bpm). Have a go at the 'PE Matching Activity', then investigate what your heart rate will be after doing each physical activity. You will need to measure by counting the number of pulses you can feel in your wrist by using two fingers on the opposite hand.

You may need to ask an adult to help you with this.

Did you do PE with Joe this morning at 9am? If you have been doing PE with Joe daily, this will be the last week of daily PE lessons. You can always go back and watch previous videos again. From next week, PE with Joe will be live Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9am and can be found HERE.
