Reading

• The Oxford Owl website allows you to access free online reading books. I put a link to it on the Reception online learning homepage. It's free to register and you need to register to access the books. Most of the books we have in our baskets at school.

• There is also some resources linked to Read, Write Inc. There are resources to support set 1 and 2 sounds.

• When looking for suitable eBooks if you choose aged 4-5 and then pink from the book band option from the drop down menus like I have done below it came up with 18 books. Most children were reading books with a pink sticker on the side before we closed.

• For those children who were reading school reading books with a red sticker on the side then you need to choose red from the bookband drop down menu.

• Some of the books have activities which you can do as well to support reading.

• Can you make a story map to help you retell the story. It might look a bit like this one

Butterfly Life Cycle

• Try some of the challenges below.

• Can you cut and stick the pictures to make a life cycle or you could draw and label your own. Watch the Powerpoint below to find out more about the butterfly life cycle.
