‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Thursday 25th June

The sun was definitely out yesterday! I hope it wasn't too hot for you! What did you do to cool yourself down? I found myself an ice-cream to help keep cool.

Today we are going to do some really tricky work telling the time to the nearest minute. This means that you have to look really carefully at the clock in order to read the time that it is showing. We are going to start by looking at minutes past the hour before moving onto minutes to the hour next week. Work your way through the powerpoint and then select the star challenge that you would like to complete. I have included the answer so that you can mark your own work.

For our next writing project we are going to be imagining that we are Roman soldiers and write a diary entry of a day in their life. To do this we need to find out some information about what they did in a typical day. I would like you to do some research to find out what they might have done in the morning, the afternoon and the evening. There are some link to information that you can use but you might like to find out some of your own.

RSE Day is a day to celebrate relationships and think about the role we all have in promoting positive relationships.

This year the theme for RSE Day is ‘Books I love about love’.

It is a day to celebrate excellent RSE, that promotes the wellbeing of, and safeguards, children and young people.  Here are some activities you can do to take part. Please choose at least 1 activity to do.

*Create a heart collage - paper, material, card, whatever you have! Add words associated with love and friendship.

*Create a storyboard to show what it means to be a good friend. You can think about how you can still a good friend while you aren't at school and while maintaining social distancing.

*Use a heart shape and write down one thing you love about yourself and one thing that you love about somebody else.
