Maths

You are all becoming very good at counting and checking the equal parts of a shape and then checking to see how many parts are shaded and not shaded. Yesterday was all abuout unit fractions. Today, we are looking at non unit fractions. That means that more than one of the parts will be shaded. Try the questions in Thursday Maths in the files below.

English

Today is World Book Day and the theme is Insirational People. I have chosen Katherine Johnson who worked for NASA as a computer, which means she solved maths problems. In 1962, John Glenn orbitted the Earth. He asked for Katherine Johnson to check the flight path calculations personally. Find out more about Katherine in 'Women Who Built NASA' in the files below. There is also a word search to try. You may want to make a space themed corner book mark. There is a template in the files below too.

Who's that behind the mask?

Listen very carefully. Can you work them all out?

You can also listen to your teachers talking about books they like to read.

Remember to read, maybe your favourite book or part of it.

Practise your spellings.

Music

Continuing with our exploration of pitch, this week we are learning about low pitch and instruments that have a low pitch. In Lesson 4, we learn how to follow the pitch in a piece of music.
