Tuesday 12th May
It's Tuesday!
Good morning everyone, we hope you are all feeling ok today.
Everyone has been doing really well. Thank you to everyone who has been able to send us photographs and emails to let us know how you are and what you have been getting up to.
Over the next few days our activities will be based around growing plants and plant life cycles.
The Tiny Seed - Eric Carle
- Read the story if you have it or watch it here now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNsxuE_wu04&t=9s
- Talk about the story, watch or read it again if you need to.
- Retell the story. Try and use words like first, then and next.
- Where did the seeds land? Why didn't they grow?
- What do you think will happen at the end of the story?
- You could draw a picture from the story of the tiny seed when it has grown into a flower. Can you label your picture with these words?
- petal
- stem
- root
- leaf
Seed spotting
- Over the next few days look out for different seeds such as stawberry seeds, apple pips, pepper seeds etc.
- If you have any seeds that are left over from any planting that you might have done, have a look at those too.
- If possible make a small collection. Talk about the different sizes and colours that they are. Some of them will be very tiny!
- Draw some different seeds and label them or stick them onto a piece of paper and label them.
Do you Know: How do seeds get around?
- Watch Maddie as she explains about seeds and how they disperse
