English

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams lesson at 10:30am.

The PowerPoint and the activities are uploaded below so you can have another look at these after the session if you would like to.

Today we are starting to write our non-chronological reports all about Emperor Penguins. Last week we looked at the structure of non-chronological reports and began to research facts about Emperor Penguins. You will be able to use these and the sentences we wrote yesterday in your non-chronological reports.

Please work through the PowerPoint. Use the plan you created last week to begin writing your first paragraph. We are going to introduce our report all about Emperor Penguins. You can have a look at my WAGOLL too.

Please focus on the first paragraph. Please remember to read your draft writing aloud so you can check spellings and punctuation.

Please upload your responses to the English task on Seesaw. Thank you.

Handwriting / Spellings

This Saturday (23rd January 2021) marks both National Handwriting Day and National Reading Day!

Today, please practise writing out your spelling words in your best Excalibur handwriting. I have uploaded some handwriting paper if you would like to use it. You can find the spelling words for this week at the bottom of the page. I have also uploaded these onto the task on Seesaw.

Please upload your responses to the handwriting task on Seesaw. Thank you.

French

In French, we are continuing to learn about our topic of food and today we are looking at vegetables. We will also be learning how to say which foods we like and don't like.

Please begin the lesson by watching this video HERE.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Task 1

Please draw and label 5 of the vegetables from the video. You may want to choose your favourite vegetables or ones that you think you might find tricky to remember.

Task 2

Please have a look at this word mat. Click HERE. This is also uploaded at the bottom of the page and on Seesaw for you.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Try to write at least 5 sentences using "J'aime....." or "Je n'aime pas...."

J'aime = I like

Je n'aime pas = I don't like

Have a look at my examples below to help you. Please draw a picture next to your sentence to show which vegetable you have used.

J'aime les pommes.

Je n'aime pas les tomates.

**CHALLENGE**

Can you work out which vegetables I have talked about in my sentence above? Let me know on Seesaw which vegetable I like and which vegetable I don't like.

Please upload your responses to the French task on Seesaw. Thank you.
