English

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams lesson at 10:30am.

 

In today's English lesson we will be learning how we can begin to plan our writing. We will be looking at the sequence of events and then planning our own writing using our sentences from the lesson yesterday. Don't worry about completing all of your plan as there will be some time in tomorrow's English to complete this. 

If you are unable to join us on Teams, please work through the PowerPoint at the bottom of the page before completing today's task.

Task 1 (30 minutes)

Please work through the activities on the First, Second and Third Person PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of the page. Please try to complete the quiz questions as you work through the slideshow and then try to change the paragraph from the third person into the first person. You do not need to write the paragraph out. 

 

Task 2 (30 minutes)

Please begin to plan your writing. There is a WAGOLL and an example included in the PowerPoint to help you. 

You may wish to use the planning template which is uploaded at the bottom of the page.

French

In French, we are learning the days of the week.

Please practise saying the words as you watch the video. You may want to watch it a few times to listen to the pronunciation before having a go yourself.

Please have a go at the worksheet attached. If you are unable to print the worksheet or to complete it on Seesaw, please write the days of the week, in order, in both French and English.

Computing

Starter:

Have a go at THIS BBC activity to practise your typing. Please try level 2 or level 3 today and play for no more than 15 minutes.

Task

You will need your Microsoft Word document that you started in the last lesson. If you did not use Microsoft Word, please continue with the program that you used last week. If you used Seesaw, you can edit your work from last week to continue to type up your writing. 

Please start the lesson by working through the PowerPoint at the bottom of the page. If you watch the presentation, you should be able to click on the sound buttons to hear my instructions.

As you continue to type up your non-chronological report, try using the keyboard commands for bold and underline. Have a go at using the spellcheck feature to check your spellings.

 

Extension Task (optional if all other tasks have been completed).

You will need your completed non-chronological report. Please complete the evaluation grid uploaded at the bottom of the page.

Once this is complete, you could create a poster that could be put up in the ICT suite explaining how to use the bold and underline keyboard commands. 

 

 

If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can type up your non-chronological report on Seesaw using the note response. Please let me know if you are unable to find this on Seesaw. If you have another program on your device such as Pages or Notepad which you wish to use, please ask an adult first.
