English (1 hour)

Today we are looking at another form of poetry. Haiku poems!

If you were unable to join our Teams meeting today, please work through the PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of the page. Please use this to guide your activities today. Please have a go at the task uploaded at the bottom of the page and on Seesaw.

Task

Read the Haiku on the page and think about how it may make you feel. Do you like the poem? Do you not like the poem? Why? Have a go at completing the table.

Then, on the next page, try to think of your own words that you could use in your Haiku poem all about Antarctica. Try to think of as many ideas as you can today. Tomorrow we will be refining our ideas and starting to plan our Haiku in more detail.

There is a word bank uploaded below to help you too.

Don't forget to read for at least 20 minutes today and to keep practising your spellings too!

Please upload your responses to the English task on Seesaw. Thank you.

PSHE (1 hour)

Please complete the following lesson on Oak National Academy. We are learning today about water and how we can save or reduce water. There is an online lesson for you to complete today. Please complete all the activities included in the lesson.

Click HERE to go to the online lesson.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Today's task (from the Oak National Academy lesson) is to create a reminder to put around the house to try and reduce water. You may wish to create your reminder in an unusual or different way. You may want to make a poster or you could write a poem, a song or a rap or you could even make a leaflet on the computer. I look forward to seeing how you can encourage others to save water!

Please upload your responses to the PSHE task on Seesaw.
