Tuesday 2nd March
It's Tuesday!
Good morning everyone!
There is no live Teams meeting at 9.15 today as I have sent out invites for our RWI lessons.
My good morning video for today can be found at the bottom of this page.
As usual it would help if your child could be ready with something to write on such as whiteboard and pen or paper and pen/pencil.
The sessions are at the following times:
Owls: 9.30 - 9.45 am
Hedgehogs: 10.00 - 10.15 am
Rabbits: 10.30 - 10.45 am
Foxes: 11.00 - 11.15 am
Phonics Comics
- Visit the Phonics Play website to read these decodable comics.
- Owls and Rabbits you can choose from any of the phase 2 comics and then from 'Pet Vet', 'Buzz' or 'I can spot' in phase 3.
- Foxes and Hedgehogs you can choose from any of the phase 2 comics and then any of the phase 3 comics EXCEPT 'Cow and Owl Town' and 'The Haircut' as they have set 3 sounds in.
Dough Disco
Today's song we are revisiting is ...
Can you include your favourite 4 actions?
Maths - 'Building 9 and 10' - Week 3
We continuing with 3D shapes.
After the lesson you are going to go on a shape hunt to look for 3d objects.
Extra challenge:
Can you use your 3d shapes to build a tower. Which shapes are good for building and which aren't?
Which shape should go at the bottom of your tower?
Which shape will go at the top?
Where can you use a shape that rolls?
How tall can you build your tower?
There are also some new activities for this week on the additional maths activities page.
Literacy/CLL: The Three Little Pigs
Listen to the song. Can you join in with some of the words as they are repeated?
Can you retell the story to your grown-up?
KUW: Huffing and Puffing Investigation
You are going to be Mr Wolf and see if you can make some objects move by 'huffing and puffing' them.
You will need to predict which objects might move. See below for the experiment.
If you want to do more ...
- The little pigs can't decide how they should use their bricks to build with. Watch my video below to find out more.
- Which wall do you think would be easiest to knock down the blue or the red wall?
- Why? Perhaps you could build your own walls to find out.
Join me later for a bedtime story (and the answer)
