‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Wednesday 8th July 2020

Good Morning, Year 4!

I hope you are all well. I am very much looking forward to seeing those of you who will be in school on Tuesday 21st July. Some of you will be unable to come for all sorts of different reasons. I have recently spoken to you all on the phone, which was lovely. Please do keep in contact - it is wonderful to hear from you!

I have uploaded a special Seesaw task this week. See if you can find it and respond to the question. Let me know what you have enjoyed this week and if you would like any help or support as we get closer to the end of term.

Keep learning, keep safe and take care

Maths

Yesterday, we completed our last geometry topic. Now, we will spend some time looking at some areas of maths which we have already learned over the year. It's good to keep practising our maths skills.

Remember to keep playing Prodigy and Times Tables Rockstars but please no longer than 20 minutes each day.

Today, please choose one of the activities to complete. You do not need to complete them all. Please choose either MyMaths or BBC Bitesize. We are learning to order numbers and work with thousands.

MyMaths -> https://app.mymaths.co.uk/3278-lesson/working-with-thousands

                          https://app.mymaths.co.uk/43-lesson/place-value-hundreds-thousands

BBC Bitesize -> https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zd9hpg8

                                https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhnrcqt

If you would like a challenge, I have added some reasoning and problem solving questions at the bottom of the page. The answers are included.

English

Please spend 10-15 minutes having a go at one of the spelling activities uploaded on Monday.  http://www.excalibur.cheshire.sch.uk/page/monday-6th-july-2020/78312

This week, you have been working on writing a story with Oak National Academy. Please continue the sequence of lessons by following the link below. If you would like to, you can send me your writing on Seesaw. I really enjoy reading your work!

Science

You have all worked really hard on our electricity topic. So many of you have enjoyed creating your own circuits online or at home. Well done! Please continue using the online simulator to create your own circuits and investigate insulators and conductors. Click on the picture to take you to the website. Please ask before clicking any links.

I have also uploaded a booklet at the bottom of this page. Have a go at answering the questions. I have also uploaded the answers so please mark your own work when you have completed the activity.
