Look at all these badges you earned on Epic.

I am so proud of all of you. What an achievement!

Jacob and Joey sent in fabulous pictures which are now on 'News from Home' and Corey made a beautiful bird feeder. Maybe you could make one. Did you enjoy VE Day? We put up some bunting and drank lemonade with strawberries in it, delicious!

Who is on the Prodigy Leader Board this week?

Monday 4 May to Sunday 10 May

Gold - Joel     Siver - Jacob    Bronze -Thomas

Well done to these three children, fantastic.

Don't forget TTRS is still there to use. I have set the tables for the next few weeks.

Things to do

Download the power points below to find out more details for English and maths.

English – This week we are going to write a non-chronological report about seahorses. Use 'Epic' to read about seahorses but don't worry, I will also provide seahorse facts to work with. You may have a book at home about seahorses so you could use that too. We will think about the sub-headings we should use and our sentence structure.

Reading – Last week in English we were learning about different sentence types. Use 'Epic' to find a book about an animal that you really like and see if you can spot these sentence types in the book.

Spelling - every day. This week we are learning words that have the vowel 'o' but it says 'u' like 'other', 'brother', 'money'. Can you see the 'o' and can you hear the 'u' sound?

Complete the spelling practice page.

Maths - We are continuing with movement and turns. Make sure you know clockwise and anticlockwise. You could use this opportunity to learn o'clock times too.

PE with Joe Wicks on youtube live 9.00 - 9.30 Ask first. Practise sprinting in your garden. Can you skip? And run at the same time? Next week should be 'Sports Week' so which activities could you reproduce in your garden? If you take photos, send them to Mrs Hilditch on the contact email and she will put thme on the 'News from home' zone on our website.

Geography project Last time we did geography we had a sunny walk all around the harbour at St. Ives. The breeze nearly blew my hat off! (Reminds me of a story. Which one?) This time we are closer to home. Look at the Geography file to find out more.

Science - Sunflower competition In your home learning packs (available Thursday 14 May), there is an information leaflet with 3 sunflower seeds taped to it. Use the sunflower diary to record what happens over the next few weeks. There may be people in your family who are good gardeners who could give you advice. Or maybe you already know what to do. If you want your sunflower to grow tall you will need to take care of it every day. Good luck.

IT - ESafety activity 3. Log in to the Code for Year 2 on our website and continue your coding learning. Remember that the tasks must be completed in the smallest number of steps to be absolutely correct. So you can get it right but, did you do it well?

Art/DT - Draw or make a seahorse or another sea creature. You could use water colours, normal paint, salt dough, leaves, petal, crayon, pencils, something else.

If you like David Walliams you might like to watch one of his books being performed as a stage play - The Midnight Gang
