I hope you are all feeling well and are ready to tackle some online learning! Try to work through each subject below and don't forget to look at Seesaw for a list of your homework. Upload any work completed to Seesaw. 

Maths

Mental Maths: Practise counting in 20's from any multiple of 20.  Eg.  Start on 620...640, 660, 680, 700, 720, 740 etc. Try to start on larger numbers such as 9880.  

LO: Numbers to 100,000

Look at the maths PowerPoint then answer the activity questions.  Answers are provided for you to look at.  

English

Starter: Spend 10 minutes learning the following words of the week:

  • persuade
  • especially
  • therefore
  • often

LO: Look at the PowerPoint on subordinate clauses then choose a one, two or three star activity to practise writing complex sentences.  As an extension, could you write any complex sentences about Tuesday (the animation that we have been watching in class).

Continue to write a descriptive paragraph about the first scene of Tuesday.

 

Spellings

This week we're looking at words with the short vowel shound /i/ spelt with y. For today, have a look through the PowerPoint, which introduces you to the rule and this week's words. Tomorrow there will be a spelling activity to go with these words.

Georgraphy

Today, we're looking at how to read co-ordinates on a map. There is then a 'Crack the Code' activity for you to complete. Choose the activity you feel most comfortable with - either *, ** or ***,

Guided Reading

This week we're looking at a story called 'Nothing But Net', which is about the Invictus Games. Today, read through the story and have a go at answering the Section A questions. Tomorrow, read the story again and complete the activity - match the word to the correct meaning.
