Pupil Premium and Academy Finance Training - Summer Term

The Governing Body at Excalibur is committed to the continuous development of its governors so that we can provide strong support and challenge to the Senior Leadership Team within the school.

Pupil Premium Training

In order to support me in my role as Pupil Premium Governor, I attended training hosted by Cheshire East Council detailing pupil premium, the range of practical strategies that can be implemented and the resources that are available to assist in supporting pupil premium pupils to improve their outcomes and issues for the governing body to consider in monitoring the performance of pupil premium at Excalibur.

Academy Finance Training

In order to support me in my role on the resources and personnel committee and also the wider governing body since Excalibur converted to an Academy, I attended training hosted by Cheshire East Council on Academy Finance

This provided an overview of the education funding system and the key governance roles and responsibilities and how these differ between schools and academies. The training gave useful guidance to support the governing body in their strategic role in monitoring the budget and the financial planning checks that can be used to ensure that this is done effectively.
