‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Friday 12th June

Hello Year 4!

It is Friday today!

Well done to everybody playing Prodigy, I can see that lots of you have completed all the questions on time. Well done! I only set 10 questions to see how you were getting on and I can see you are all working really well. I am so impressed with all your efforts and hard work. Well done to you all!

If you remember, our topic last term was 'Extreme Earth' and we looked at lots of different natural disasters. If you enjoyed this topic (particularly volcanoes) you may be interested in having a look at The National History Museum link below where you can meet Museum researcher Gerallt Hughes to find out what it is like to study and explore a volcano.

Click on the picture of the volcano to take you to the video. It will be live from 10:30am.

Keep safe and keep learning!

Maths

Please no longer than 20 minutes on either Prodigy or Times Table Rockstars.

Today, please complete the next lesson on the Oak National Academy website. You can click HERE to take you to the website. Today we will be looking at identifying acute and obtuse angles.

It has been so lovely to read on Seesaw that so many of you are enjoying the video lessons on shape and angles!

If you would like to, there is a Friday maths challenge on BBC Bitesize. This is optional but if you are interested in football or the Premier League then this might be for you! https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zsrgp4j

English

Today, please spend some time today on the handwriting activities found at the bottom of this page. You may wish to practise your spellings in your best handwriting too. It is up to you. Please spend approximately 20 minutes on this. You do not need to complete all the handwriting activities I have uploaded!

** you may already have the Year 3/4 spellings (handwriting) booklet in your home learning packs so please check this before printing any pages off. Please ask before printing and you may not need to print all the pages off. One or two pages may be sufficient. **

If you haven't already, please finish reading Oliver Twist. You can click HERE to take you to the audio book and you can listen to the story. Remember to read every day.

If you have read Oliver Twist or you would like another activity, you may want to try THIS book club activity from BBC Bitesize.
