Friday 1st May 2020

Good morning everyone.  It's Friday!! I hope you are all well and are looking forward to the weekend.  Thanks so much to everyone who has managed to share their writing with me via the school email.  It's so lovely to see.  Below are our final lessons of the week x

Maths

Hit the Button - try out the division facts (Division up to 12).  This will help you to remember inverses of times tables.  As a challenge, try "hit the qusetion" rather than "hit the answer".

LO: Subtracting decimals with a different number of decimal places.

Today, watch the teaching video (Week 2, w/c 27th April, Lesson 4) which shows you how to subtract numbers with a differnt amount of decimal places.  Remember, when you come to complete the activity, always line up the decimal points.

English

To write a balanced argument, you need to be able to link your ideas together with good connective words.  (See Connective Word Sheet to help you to remember what a connective is.)  Your first task today is to read through the examples of sentences linked together with connectives then have a go of you own. (Word doc.)

Your second task is to read through the balanced argument "Should homework be banned?".  Can you identify any connectives and modal verbs?

Science

Your first task is to research what an amphibian is as a bit of revision.  Next, look at the PowerPoint "Life cycles" slides 3 and 7.  Learn about the life cycle of an amphibian.  Complete your own ammphibian life cycle using the activity sheets provided.

* Complete the life cycle for a frog using the PPT provided to help.

** Complete your own research on any amphibian and fill in the life cycle sheet Amphibians - Choose own".

Don't forget to look up an unfamiliar words so you are sure of their meaning.

Finally, have a go at filling in the activity sheet - Similarities and Differences - to see what you can remember about all the different life cycles.
