This week, we would like you to write a diary as if you escaped Pompeii like Tranio and Livia did.

First rewatch the video of the book! CLICK HERE!

Then, plan your diary with a comic strip first. (Plan at the bottom of the page)

Break your day into sections. For each section, draw a picture of what is happening, an interesting opener and how you might be feeling.

  1. Where were you at the start of the day? Think about something a Roman child might be doing.
  2. What clues did you see to know that Vesuvius was going to erupt soon? Remember that the people of Pompeii possibly didn’t even know that Vesuvius was a volcano or at least didn’t believe that it would erupt.
  3. Describe what you saw when the volcano erupted.
  4. How did you escape from the city? Was there anyone else with you?
  5. Looking back at Pompeii and Vesuvius as you left, how did you feel?

Please upload your work to Seesaw under “English Plan Upload”.

Guided Reading (The Boy Who Grew Dragons)

Please re-read chapter 4 and 5 and answer the following questions.

  1. What does it mean if something is aloft?
  2. Why isn’t Chipstick feeling cool about the dragons?
  3. What makes the dragon seem cute?
  4. Why does mum wake up?
  5. What do you think Chipstick should do about the dragon?

Please read chapter 6 and 7 for homework.

Please upload your work to Seesaw

You are more than welcome to either type it up or write your homework in your Guided Reading Book and take a picture.

French (Teams is available if you need help)

Today we are going to be looking at holidays!

The PowerPoint is at the bottom of the page.

Use the PowerPoint to write the following sentences on Seesaw.

  • I am going to Portugal. I go by bus. I go with my mum, dad and brother.
  • I am going to Wales. I go by train. I go with my sister.
  • I am going to America. I go by horse. I go with my mum.
  • I am going to Germany. I go by boat. I go with my dad and sister.
  • I am going to France. I go by plane. I go with my dad.

(Hopefully the sound works on the PowerPoint if you put it on full screen. If it doesn't click on the sound at the side of the powerpoint!)

Please upload your work to Seesaw
