Todays worksheet is also below as well as the answers!

English (You can join the live lesson on Microsoft Teams)

Today we are going to be looking at what open and closed questions are!

I have attached the PowerPoint below if you could not make it to the teams meeting!

Remember a closed question can be answered with either a single word or a short phrase. An open question is likely to receive a longer and more detailed answer.

Task 1

Imagine now you are becoming the reporter for the earthquake that you have chosen. What questions would you ask people there?

For task 1, I would like you to come up with 5 closed questions to ask and 5 open questions!

Task 2

You will then need to pretend you are at the site of the earthquake and try to answer the questions that you have come up with!

You could also do this with someone at home as if you were a real reporter!

Please upload your work to Seesaw under “English Task 1 and Task 2”.

If you finish early check to see if you have done your spelling activites and your spelling test!

Guided Reading (The Boy Who Grew Dragons)

Please re-read chapter 20 and 21 and answer the following questions.

  1. What does it mean if someone is ticked off?
  2. How does Kai feel about Flicker?
  3. What is the great idea?
  4. Do you think it is a good idea for all of the children to have their own dragon? Explain your answer.
  5. Why do the children read lots of dragon books?

Please read chapter 22 and 23 for homework.

Please upload your work to Seesaw

You are more than welcome to either type it up or write your homework in your Guided Reading Book and take a picture.

French (Teams is available if you need help)

Today we are going to be looking at places that speak in French!

I have attached the powerpoint that should pronounce the sounds for you and the worksheet!

(Hopefully the sound works on the PowerPoint if you put it on full screen. If it doesn't click on the sound at the side of the powerpoint!)

Please upload your work to Seesaw

Art (Teams is available if you need help)

This week in art we are going to be looking at continuous line drawing.

You will need a piece of plain paper, a pencil, small objects to draw from around the house (a set of keys, a single key, a stone, a piece of fruit or vegetable or a small trinket)

This lesson will encourage you to slow down and focus on what you are drawing; looking at the intricate details of objects. This unique technique of using only one continuous line to draw will help you to coordinate your drawing with what you are seeing.

It can be tricky at first but keep practicing and I have no doubt that you will get better and better!
