Well done, Year 3! Another week of online learning complete! I am so proud of you all! This weekend it is the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch. Some of the guided reading Teams sessions this week read a text about garden birds. I wonder if you will be able to spot any birds in your garden over the weekend? Let me know on Seesaw!

See you again on Monday! I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

EMA

Today's EMA will be part of our Teams session. If you are unable to make this or you would like to have another look at it, the EMA activity (and answers) are included at the bottom of the page.

Nessy

If you usually go onto Nessy at school during EMA, please make sure you are doing this at home too. Please aim to spend between 20 and 30 minutes on Nessy every day. Please let me know if you have not received your log in details.

Maths

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams lesson at 9:00am.

If you were unable to join the Teams session, please work through the maths PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of the page.

Please complete the guided activities on the PowerPoint before moving on to the maths tasks. There is also THIS VIDEO to help explain the method.

THIS video may help if you are having a go at the *** activity today.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Today we are learning to divide 2-digits by 1-digit using the short division method or the bus stop method.

Please choose one activity to complete. There are *, ** and *** activities to choose from. Please choose the activity that you think is the most suitable for you. You do not need to complete them all.

CHALLENGE

If you would like to have a go at a challenge after you have completed your activity, there is one uploaded at the bottom of the page. The answers are also included so, if you are able to, you can check your own answers.

Please upload your responses to the maths task on Seesaw. Thank you.

English

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams input at 10:30am.

The PowerPoint and the activities are uploaded below so you can have another look at these after the session if you would like to.

If you were unable to join us on Teams this morning, please work through the PowerPoint before starting your activity.

Today we are creating a word bank that we can use for our next piece of writing. You will need the document at the bottom of the page called 'Creating a Word Bank'. This is also uploaded onto Seesaw for you. Please focus on finding adverbs and adjectives to use in your writing. We looked at feelings in our English lesson yesterday so please refer back to this to help you.

Task

For each section of the story, please create your own collection of words and phrases. Please use the story and the WAGOLL uploaded at the bottom of the page to help you. Click on the picture below to hear the story again.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Please upload your responses to the English task on Seesaw. Thank you.

Spellings

Please spend some time today practising your spelling words. Perhaps you could ask somebody at home to check your spellings like we do in school on Fridays?

I have uploaded the new spellings for this week at the bottom of this page and on Seesaw. Please continue to practise them throughout the week. There will be activities uploaded next week to help you to practise your new spelling words.

Task

Read through your spelling words. Are there any words which you are unsure of? You may want to look them up in the dictionary to find out the meaning of the words.

Geography (1 hour)

Please begin the lesson by watching THIS video from BBC about globes, maps and atlases. After, there are two tasks for you to have a go at today.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Task 1 (10 minutes)

Please visit Google Earth. You can click HERE to go to Google Earth. Spend some time today tinkering with Google Earth to locate Antarctica.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Task 2

Please watch THIS video all about Antarctica and the landscape you would see there.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Next, please spend some time studying the pictures in the PowerPoint. These are also uploaded onto Seesaw for you. Please spend approximately 10 minutes on each picture.

Using all three sources, make notes about life in Antarctica and the animals which may live there. You may want to write any questions down that you think of too or discuss the images with somebody.

  • What does Antarctica look like?
  • What can you see? What would it be like to visit Antarctica?
  • Which animals could live in Antarctica?

Please respond to the Geography task on Seesaw.

PE (1 hour)
