‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Friday 3rd July

Hello, Year 4!

Remember, next week our online learning page might look a little bit different. This week, I have been in school every day teaching a year 6 bubble. We are not allowed to have more than 15 children in one classroom. I endeavour to continue checking and responding to you on Seesaw every day. You may not receive a response as quickly as you have been recently, but I will reply daily to all the messages I receive. I will still be checking Prodigy, Times Tables Rockstars and asking you to continue reading and practising your spellings and times tables every day. I have planned the activities for the next few weeks but I am going to need some help to upload it, on time, here on our online learning page. So, Miss McArdle will be uploading the activities to the year 4 online learning page. It will be very similar - you may not even notice any changes!

Keep in touch through Seesaw and emails! I really enjoy reading your responses to each task.

Maths

We are nearing the end of our geometry topic on position and direction. Today, we will be learning to move on a grid. This is called translation. Please choose one of the following activities to complete. You do not need to complete them all. This week I have tried my best to provide a variation of tasks for maths. Next week, this may not be possible. Please keep up your Prodigy, MyMaths and Times Tables Rockstars work too!

There is a worksheet uploaded at the bottom of the page. Answers are also included in the document.

There is also a challenge activity. Have a go at this if you would like to challenge yourself today. The answers for these questions are hidden under the blue squares.

English

As it is Friday today, I thought we could have some fun and write our own sound poem! Use the BBC Bitesize link below to work through the activities and write your own poem. We have used onomatopoeia before - can you remember what it is?

PE

Last week was Yorkshire Tea National Cricket Week. As we have been learning all about cricket in our recent PE lessons, I thought you might like to have a go at some more activities. By clicking the link below, you can watch the video and then have a go at the activity. There are catching, batting and cricket-fit activities!

Please ask before clicking the link.
