Children's Mental Health Week Creative Activities (1 hour)

This week it is Children's Mental Health Week. Mrs Jones has recorded an assembly for you all about different ways to express yourself. If you haven't watched our assembly this morning, please watch that first. The link is at the top of the page or you can click HERE

There is also an assembly by Oak National Academy, click HERE to watch the video.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

The theme, this year, for Children's Mental Health Week is "Express Yourself".

According to Place2Be, being able to express yourself is "finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself".

Task 1

If you could wear a T-shirt to express yourself, what would it look like?

Please have a go at drawing your own T-shirt design to "express yourself". On the front, please try to include your likes, dislikes, hobbies, favourite things and more! On the back, please try to express how this makes you feel. You may want to make it colourful and bright. Think about the colours you could use and why these colours might be meaningful to you.

There is a T-shirt template uploaded at the bottom of the page if you wish to use it.

Don't forget to upload your design to Seesaw too! I can't wait to see them!

Task 2 (Optional)

You may wish to have a go at THIS activity to draw your feelings.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

I have uploaded some mindful activities you may wish to have a go at. You can complete the activity and then colour in the pages. If you have your own colouring pages, you may want to spend some time this afternoon doing some mindful colouring.

Please upload your responses to the task on Seesaw. Thank you.
