‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Monday 8th June

We have something new to try for a new week Year 3. You should have received a letter and your log in details for Seesaw via email. This is a new way that we can communicate and for you to access your learning. Year 6 has trialled it for us and it seems to be working well. It will take a bit of time for you (and me!) to get used to it but I'm sure that together we can do it!yes

Here is a video that you might find useful to get you started.

I am still going to putting our learning on the website and there are some things that I am unable to put on Seesaw so will be available on our Year 3 Online Learning pages.

As today is World Oceans Day our learning will focus around our oceans.

This website has lots of videos and activities for you to do throughout the day. Remember to ask your adult and make sure that you check whether they are appropriate for you as some are aimed at older children. https://worldoceanday.school/

Take a look at the information to find out more about World Oceans Day and what is happening to our oceans.

*Read the information about the Layers of the Ocean and complete the comprehension questions based on what you have read. Choose your star challenge. The answers are at the end of each star challenge.

*Create a poster to help save our oceans. You could focus on saving water, reducing and recycling plastic or something else of your choice.

*I have assigned you a number of different ocean related books on Epic, please spend some time reading at least one of these books. You can read more than one if you wish.

I have found some additional activities that you might like to try which I have uploaded to this page or shared a link.

*Origami whale - https://artsycraftsymom.com/easy-origami-whale/

*Paper plate jellyfish - https://nontoygifts.com/paper-plate-jellyfish-craft-kids/

*Why not watch the Blue Planet Live Lesson? You may have already watched this before. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/live-lessons/blue-planet-live-lesson/zn7tkmn

*Design a sculpture made from recycled plastic - there are some examples on one of the information documents.
