Task 1: Warm-up

Many thanks to those of you who provided warm-up plans from last week's PE session. I have included a selection of these below. I will include some more in future PE sessions.

  • Complete the following warm-up below (as designed by Isaac and inspired by Tabata workouts):
    • Tabata-inspired workout (designed by Isaac)
      • Start off jogging on the spot for 40 seconds, punching side to side and overhead to get you moving.
      • Tabata 20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest
        • 1) Squats in break jog on the spot
        • 2) Heel kicks in break squats
        • 3) Knee highs in break squats
        • 4) Mandowns/superman in break jog on the spot
        • 5) Pulse squats in break jog on the spot
        • 6) Sit ups in break jog on the spot
        • 7) Leg raises in break jog on the spot
        • 8) Burpees
        • Finish off with 40 seconds arm rotations forwards and backwards, when arms up stretch on to tip toes and gently down as you bring arms down.
  • Now complete the following (designed by George):
    • ​​​​​​​10 hip rotations both ways
    • 10 arm circles forward and 10 backward
    • Skipping for 2 minutes
    • 10 lunges
    • Jog on the spot for 1 minute
  • ​​​​​​​Now complete the following (designed by Euan):
    • ​​​​​​​Toe touches (30 seconds)
    • High knees (30 seconds)
    • Lunges (30 seconds)
    • Sit-ups (30 seconds)
    • Body twists (30 seconds)
    • Heel flicks (30 seconds)
    • Hopping on left leg (30 seconds)
    • Hopping on right leg (30 seconds)
    • 10 press-ups
    • Galloping around area (30 seconds)​​​​​​​

Task 2: Cooper Run

 

Note: the below information is the same as the last three weeks - see if you can increase the number of laps/shuttles you do.

  • If you are able to, go to an outdoor space and run laps for 12 minutes. Record the number of laps you do (you can then repeat this and future and monitor your progress).
  • If you are unable to go out, use any private outdoor space, such as a garden and mark out the longest shuttle space you can (such as ten metres). Run as many shuttles as you can in 12 minutes.
