Maths

Please join us on Teams at 9:00 for our maths session.

EMA

The EMA will be part of our Teams session. If you are unable to make this or you would like to have another look at it, the EMA activity (and answers) are included in the maths PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of this page. Today we are practising mental addition.

Next, please go through the PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of this page. There are some questions for you to work through before you go onto your worksheet.

The worksheets can be found at the bottom of this page. There is a worksheet on arrays, *, ** and ***. Please choose one worksheet to complete this morning.

Please aim to complete as many questions as you can in the lesson.

If you would like to use the blank grids for your multiplication, there are some uploaded for you.

If you would like to watch a video explaining the grid method, you can click HERE

If you are working on the arrays worksheet today and you would like to watch the arrays video again, please click HERE

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Please upload all your responses to Seesaw.

English

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams lesson at 10:30am.

Today we are beginning to plan our non-chronological reports. Our reports are going to be all about Emperor Penguins. You will need your notes from the lesson yesterday.

First, please work through the PowerPoint. There is a starter activity on contractions for you to complete first.

Today we are grouping our facts together to create paragraphs for our writing. Once you have grouped your facts together, please start planning your non-chronological report. Before you begin, please work through the 'Spidergram Planning PowerPoint'. You can use this template and the 'Planning Your Report' template to write down your sub-headings and what you are going to include in each section. There are examples included in the English PowerPoint if you need them.

Please upload your response to the English task on Seesaw.

Quiet Reading

Please make sure you are reading every day for at least 20 minutes. I would love to know which book you are enjoying reading at the moment. Please let me know on Seesaw.

Computing

There are two tasks for you to have a go at today. You can do them in whichever order you prefer but please make sure that both tasks are completed.

Task 1

Today we are practising our coding!

Click HERE to go to Code For Life.

Please start at Level 19 - Loops and Repetitions.

There is a video to watch when you begin the first activity on level 19. We are learning to use the repeat block to make our sequences shorter and quicker.

If you are finding it a little tricky, you may want to go back to Level 18 - Shortest Route and try that first.

Task 2

I have created a new blog post for Year 3 to add to. You can go to the blog by clicking HERE

Please let me know one interesting fact that you learned yesterday when researching Emperor Penguins. Please only type your first name on to the blog post so that it can be shown on the website. I look forward to reading your facts!

Please upload any completed computing work to Seesaw. Thank you.

Art

Over the next few weeks we will be learning lots of different drawing skills and techniques. We will be working towards creating our own piece of art linked to our Antarctica topic.

Today, please start the lesson today by watching these videos all about how to draw lines.

Video 1

Video 2

After that, have a go at the activity explained in Video 2. You may want to have a go at experimenting and testing a variety of marks and lines on a plain piece of paper first.

Please upload your artwork to Seesaw. Thank you
