Maths - 'Growing 6, 7, 8!' - week 2

We continue exploring 6, 7 and 8 again this week.

But let's get counting first.

Our focus this week is counting backwards from 20 to 1. Most children will find 20-10 tricky and then will get more confident once we reach 10 or even 5.

Encourage them to join in where they can.

Counting Down From Twenty

Lesson 4 - Combing two groups

Today you are going to adding groups together to find the total

Mrs  Bailey

Good afternoon Reception!

Thank you so much for all of your hard work last week. I loved seeing all of your learning on Seesaw.

Please join me for a live Teams meeting at 12:45pm.

During our meeting, we will be having a go at copying some rhythms so make sure you have your listening ears ready!

I hope you can join me 😊

Music

Please click here for a video where I explain your music task.

This week, we are going to get creative and musical!

I would like you to create your own instruments using items from around the house. (Please make sure you ask your grown ups permission before you use anything!)

See what instruments you can create! Maybe a drum? A shaker? Whatever you can make.

There are some ideas in my video!

Once you have made your instrument/s, have a go at playing them!

Can you play them with a fast tempo?

What about a slow tempo?

Can you change tempo as you are playing from slow to fast then back again?

Can you play your instruments quietly?

What about loudly?

I look forward to seeing (and maybe hearing!) your instruments on Seesaw.

Wellbeing for Thursday

Yoga

Yoga is a great way to help you to feel calm, especially if you have had a busy day or you are feeling sad or angry.

Click on the link below which will take you to Cosmic Kids yoga:

Cosmic Kids Yoga

There are lots of different yoga videos to choose from. If you scroll down, you can ‘Pick the perfect class length’. I would choose a video that is either under 10 minutes or are 10-20 minutes.

Choose a yoga that you like the look of and enjoy stretching out your body and feeling calm.

Have a wonderful afternoon!
