‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Wednesday 10th June

It's Wonderful Wednesday!

We hope you had a super day yesterday. It was lovely to have a chat to some of you yesterday when you came to collect your home learning packs.

There are lots of fun pirate themed activities for you to do in the pack.

Today's piratey activities are ...

Shake Your Treasure!

  • Ready to cut some shapes with the Swashbuckle crew?

  • Sing along and shake your treasure; collect your gold and jewels and shake them all around.

Making a telescope

  • If you Google 'making a pirate telescope', there are lots of ideas for making ones with moving parts and that painted and decorated in wonderful ways.

  • But ...    you could just provide a cardboard tube and let imagination take over!

If you are feeling creative ...

  • CBeebies has lots of pirate themed craft ideas to try if you have the resources.

Pirate Ships

  • Look at the PowerPoint below to find out about pirate ships and what the different parts of the ship were called.

  • Label the pirate ship using the picture below (or use the one already printed in the home learning pack).

  • The pirate flag is called 'The Jolly Roger'. Can you draw a flag to go on a pirate ship?

  • There is a template in the home learning pack or you can download one below.

  • If you are allowed you could use furniture like cushions and chairs to make your own pirate ship!

  • You could use Lego/Duplo/Megablocks to build a pirate ship.

Maths: Oak Academy: Understanding half continued

  • In this lesson we will continue to practise halving.
