Maths (You can join the live lesson on Microsoft Teams)

Today, we are going to consolidate our learning on the grid method for multiplication. The PowerPoint at the bottom of the page has different tasks for you to complete:

  • There are three grid multiplications where you need to spot the mistakes- highlight the mistake then write the correct answer at the side (either on the computer or printed off). Then calculate the column addition to get the answer. There is an example of this on the powerpoint.
  • There are also three grid multiplications where you need to fill in the gaps. This can either be typed or handwritten. Then calculate the column addition to get the answer.

Have a think about how you have found the work so far and choose the star you feel suits you best.

Please upload your work to Seesaw under “Maths task”.

English (Optional live lesson on Microsoft Teams)

Today, we are going to be looking at an information text about Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. There are some questions that go with the information text as well. Remember, you can use a coloured crayon or highlighter to help you highlight information like we do in school. Read the questions really carefully to help you answer the questions. I will be available on Teams if you need any help or want to join but this is an optional session- you can complete the questions independently if you would rather!

On the document at the bottom of the page, there is the information text, questions and then answers for 1*, then the same for 2*, then the same for 3*. You only need to do one set of questions but make sure you look at the right text to go with the * of questions you choose- they are labelled at the bottom of each page.

Ensure you challenge yourself appropriately!

Please then upload your answers to “English Task” on Seesaw.
