Hungry Caterpillar sentences game

  • This activity was in the latest home learning pack if you had a copy from school, or you can access it below. There are two versions of the same activity with the answers on the last page.

  • In the first version your child writes the word that is missing from each sentence. There are 3 choices underneath each sentence, they must choose the correct one. Where possible encourage your child to read the choices themselves.

  • The second version is the same activity but instead of writing, your child reads the words if they can and then cuts out and then sticks the correct word where it should go in each sentence.

  • It doesn't matter which one you do, although some children who are still developing their pencil control might find the cutting and sticking easier as the space to write in is quite small.

Can you spy?

  • Play a quick game of 'Can you spy?' in your garden/outdoor space you could also play with things in your home if you can't get outside.

  • Use the language of size to encourage your child to listen and spot things e.g. "Can you spy the tallest tree in the garden/street/neighbours garden?" or "Can you spy a small stone?"

Dancing

  • Today is International Dance Day, so put on your favourite music and show your 'groovy moves' as you dance to the music!

Whatever you do today stay safe and have fun!

Take care,

Mrs Rogers, Mrs Griffin and Mrs Thompson
