Good morning, Year 5. Thank you all for your participation in the live lessons yesterday.  I think they worked really well and would like to continue with more of these over the next few week.  Below is your online learning for today - you will find all your attachments at the bottom of the page.

Mental Maths: This week, we are focussing upon counting forwards and backwards through zero.

Think carefully about which numbers are greater than others.  Can you count in steps of 1's, 2's, 5's 10's?

LO: Prime Numbers and Prime Factors

This week, we have been working on prime numbers and prime factors.  If you are not able to join me on Teams, please view the PowerPoint attached before completing the maths worksheet (scroll to the bottom for answers).  Choose from a one, two or three star activity.  If you would like an extension activity, please click on the "Maths extension" document (answers behind the blue boxes).

English  (You can join me on Teams for the writing input for this lesson - 10.30 - 11)

Spellings: Adding the suffix -ness.  Please find attached a wordsearch containing your spellings for this week.

WOTW: vehicle, frequency, curiosity, queue

Writing

Today, concentrate upon writing paragraph 2 of your letter.  Use your planning sheet to help. Once again, concentrate on this paragraph.  Think about the writing process.  Draft, edit, check for spellings, punctuation and grammar.  This is more important then trying to write the whole letter in one go.

To help, have a look at paragraph two of my WAGOLL.  Can you see how i have varied my sentence openers - I haven't just started with 'I' all the time.  I've also added parenthesis and a rhetorical question.
