‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Thursday 25th June

Good Morning Year 4!

It is RSE Day today. The theme this year is 'Books I love about love'. RSE Day celebrates relationships and how we all can promote positive relationships. There are lots of ideas for different activities in the booklet below. Please ask first.

Are you interested in history? Do you like dinosaurs? The Oak National Academy Assembly this week is joined by the National History Museum. It goes live at 10am but it can be watched afterwards by using the same link.

The Natural History Museum is also open online for virtual tours, zooming in on beetles and other fun things! Please ask before clicking the link below.

Maths

Please spend no longer than 20 minutes on either Prodigy or Times Tables Rockstars. I have been so impressed with the effort that you have been putting into practising maths using these websites. I can see your progress online - well done everybody!

Today we are continuing our learning of shapes and symmetry. Please have a go at the Oak National Academy Lesson and identify lines of symmetry in a pattern.

If you would prefer, there are worksheets at the bottom of the page. You do not need to complete both the online lesson and the worksheets but they are provided if you would like to have a go. You can choose which * level you would like to work at.

English

On Tuesday, we looked at using a dictionary. Today, please have a go at the BBC Bitesize lesson 'Using a Thesaurus'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zf96ncw

After, you may want to go back and edit your Victorian diary entry to use synonyms to find a different way of saying something.

Please also have a go at these synonym matching activities.

PSHE

Today is RSE Day! RSE Day celebrates relationships and how we all can promote positive relationships. There are lots of ideas for different activities in the booklet below. Please ask first.

I have uploaded a 'Gratitude Activity' below. You can use this activity to think about all the things you are grateful for. You can create your own gratitude jar or you can just complete some of the activities. If you create a jar, you can put your pieces of paper inside and then open it in a week and look back at all the good things you thought about today.

Geography

If you haven't already, please have a look at the BBC Bitesize lesson which introduces you to maps.

If you think that you have already completed this, or that you know a little bit about maps already, please have a go at the next lesson.
