Try the activity below after the lesson. How can you represent 6?

KUW: Poles Apart (travelling the world to see how it is different to where I live)

We have a new story today 'Pole's Apart'. You can listen to it below.

As you know by now penguins live at the South Pole and polar bears live at the North Pole which is 12,430 miles away!

Find out what happens when the Pilchard-Browns get lost on their way to a picnic.

Keep an eye on Mr White's hat towards the end of the story.

After listening to the story below use Google Earth to visit the countries and places in the story ...

Google Earth

Start at the North Pole (The Arctic) ...

then put 5th Avenue New York into the search.

When you get there use street view... Can you spot any yellow taxi cabs?

then visit Parliament Street, London, England ... Look out for Big Ben.

then visit the Bridge of Sighs, Venice, Italy ... Can you see any gondola boats on the canal?

onto the Taj Mahal, India ... Look at all the people going to visit.

followed by the Opera House, Sydney, Australia ... Can you see the Opera House?

and finally the South Pole (Antarctica)

That's a lot of miles!

Where would you like to visit?

Can you use the word because to explain why?

e.g. I would like to go to Italy because I would like to have a ride in a gondola boat.

Andy's Wild Workouts

So many of you enjoyed the arctic work out last week that I thought we would try another one.

Have a wonderful day,
