Maths

Mental Maths: Follow the link to the Topmarks Coconut Multiples game.

Spend about 10 - 15 minutes on this, revising multiples of numbers.

LO: Describing translations

Follow the link to Oak National Academy and scroll to Transformations.  Click on Lesson 2.  You can take the pre-lesson quiz to test your knowlegde then watch the teaching video.  Complete the online activities then take the post-lesson quiz to test your knowledge.  If you would like an extra activity to complete, have a go at the attached task.  Answers are on the second page. 

English

Spellings: Choose one of the activities to complete from yesterday and then spend 10 - 15 minutes learning your new spellings ending in -ssion. 

Our new piece of writing is going to be a letter to Michiya Ogawa - kensuke's son.  Make sure you have completed the book, plus the Postscript, before you do this.  Read through my WAGOLL so you know what you are aiming for. 

LO: To write complex sentences beginning with, ending with or embedding a subordinate clause.  

Read through the attached English file.  You will see examples of how to write complex sentences with the subordinate clause written at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the sentence.  Pay attention to where commas must be added depending on where the subordinate clause is placed. 

Use the planning sheet to plan for paragraph 1 and 2. 

Humanities

Today, you are going to have a go at drawing your own map on squared paper.  Your map could be of Kensuke's Island or a different place.  It's up to you.  Think of about 8 - 10 places to label and describe how you would get from one place to another by using the 8 compass directions.  Look at the PowerPoint to help.

ASM have sent us some activities  for a 'Virtual Sports' Day' You can follow the link below to get these.  They can be done over a day or throughout the week.  It's entirely up to you.  Enjoy x
