There are also some new activities for this week on the additional maths activities page.

Additional maths activities

CD/KUW: The Three Little Pigs

Below are suggestions for different creative activities based on pigs which use a range of resources so hopefully there will be something you could try.

Painted/Printing Pig faces

You cut a potato in half or use a round sponge to get the pigs head then use thumb prints for the ears and snout or just paint freehand.

Peg Pigs

These are cut from card but if you don't have pink card you could use the inside of a cereal box to cut out the pig shape and then paint it pink. The clothes pegs could be coloured with a pink felt tipped pen.

Pig biscuits/cakes

Using pink marshmallows and raisins/chocolate drops.

Lolly Stick Puppets

Paper Plate Wolf

You could also make a pig face with a paper plate too.

Playdough Pig Face

CBeebies Presents ...

Join Mr Bloom and Northern Ballet as they present 'The Three Little Pigs'. It might be something that you watch at the weekend or come back to at some point later in the day or this week.

As with 'Red Riding Hood', the programme is quite long at 40 minutes. Some children might not be comfortable with the dancers dressed as characters so, here is another taster to gauge your child's interest and if they would be comfortable watching it.

Trailer for the 'Three Little Pigs'

Again, I watched this with my 4 year old daughter and the format is very child friendly. Mr Bloom and the children break up the dancing and explain what is happening.

See you later for a bedtime story as we catch up with Fast Fox, Slow Dog, Mother Hen and her chicks.
