‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Wednesday 6th May

It's Wonderful Wednesday!

You're half way through another week! What superstars!

Mrs Jones has asked on her newsletter if you are able to make a banner/poster celebrating/saying thank you to the wonderful people who work for the National Health Service (NHS).

You can put it into the special box at the end of the school drive and then they will be displayed on the school gates for everyone to see when they walk past.

But you need to get it in the box by the end of the week.

The Great Pet Sale

  • Listen to the story again

Making a shop

  • If you kept the labels fom your shop yesterday you can use them again to make a new shop or the same shop.

  • Today you are going to have a sale in your shop, everything is 1p less. Can you change your labels?

  • Now turn your labels over. You need to put your prices up this time. Everything is 1p more (than your original price). How much do things cost now?

  • Play the 'Money Box Coin Count' game. Instructions can be downloaded below.

  • For an even greater challenge, some children who can count in 2's, could count in 2's as you drop 2pence pieces in rather than pennies.

Animal Silly Sentences

  • Choose a pet from the story and make up a sentence about them.

  • Can you get any rhyming words in your sentence? e.g The brighly coloured parrot sat on a carrot.

National Oak Academy maths: Days of the Week

Lego/Duplo building challenge

  • What animals can you build from Lego or Duplo?

  • You could make eyes and stick them on.

Have a wonderful day,

Mrs Rogers, Mrs Griffin and Mrs Thompson
