‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

Thursday 14th May

Welcome Year 4!

I hope you are all well. It has been lovely to hear from so many of you. Each Thursday Oak National Academy has an online assembly. This week it is in partnership with UK Space Agency. You can see it at 10am HERE. If you miss it, you can see it again by clicking link below.

Please remember to ask an adult before clicking any links.

Maths

Please complete the attached worksheet on pounds and pence. I have also uploaded the answers for you so you can check your work.

In the top right hand corner of each sheet is a little picture of a submarine. The deeper the submarine goes, the more challenging the worksheet will be. You can choose which activity you would like to complete.

If you can, or you would like to, please remember to spend some time on Prodigy. There is a leader board each week and you can find the previous winners HERE.

English

Please continue working on retelling the story of Oliver Twist. You may want to use the lesson today to edit your work. Remember to check your spellings and that your sentences make sense. When checking my work, I read my work aloud because it helps me to spot my mistakes.

If you are finding it a bit tricky, you can have a look at the BBC Bitesize lesson on 'Exploring Recounts' which will help you with the features to include.

You may want to choose a book on Epic! to read. Click on our completed Readerpillar to take you to the website. I have set you all a book to read on the Victorians. I hope you all enjoy it! There is also a quiz you can take afterwards.

I have noticed that some of you have read this book and taken the quiz already. Well done!!!
