Wednesday 17th June 2020
It was lovely speaking to some of you yesterday. Don't worry if you missed my call. I'll call again soon. Also, thanks to everyone who has been able to upload their work to Seesaw. I really do love seeing the work that you have produced.
It would be great to know if anyone has signed up to the summer reading challenge yet. Let me know!
Science
So, the Big Bang science event continues today for KS2 from 10:00 - 12:00. You can explore hands on challenges, have a look at the live interactive workshops and much more! I've re-attached the event guide (be sure to scroll down to 17th June) so you can have a look to see what's on today and decide what you'd like to be involved with. To get onto the website, follow the link HERE and use the password: StaffsUni2020. If you complete any of the challenges and are able to take pictures, please upload them to Seesaw if you can. I'll look forward to seeing them.
Maths
Mental Maths: Follow the link to Hit the Button. Click on doubles then go to multiples of 5. Choose either *up to 50 or ** up to 100

LO: To draw lines and angles
Read through slides 1 - 11 on the maths PowerPoint then choose from a one, two or three star activity. The answers are provided but for the questions which require you to draw the angle, you need to find a grown-up to check them for you.
English
Today, we are continuing our work on leaflets.
Task 1
Leaflets quite often have offers on them to entice people to buy/use/visit the product that they're advertising. Look at the PowerPoint - Prices. Think about the language used. Sometimes, the words used on a leaflet make us think that we are getting a deal, even if we're not. After, complete the English activity.
Task 2
Begin to draft and edit paragraph 1 of your leaflet which should focus upon introducing the island. E.g. Its location, its beauty. Look at my WAGOLL to help. Remember to include all the persuasive features we have been learning about.
