EMA

If you are joining us on the live Teams session, the EMA will be included in the lesson. If you are unable to make this or you would like to have another look at it, the EMA activity (and answers) are included in the video below.

Maths (1 hour)

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams lesson at 9:00am.

Today we are learning about tables. If you were unable to join the live input at 9:00, please work through the PowerPoint at the bottom of the page. There are some guided activities for you to work through before completing today's task.

Please note: you will only need to work through the activities up to slide 9.

Please choose an activity to complete that is the right level of challenge. There is a *, ** and *** option for you to choose from today. You do not need to complete all the sheets.

* = Page 1 and 2 (D)

** = Page 3 and 4 (E)

*** = Page 5 and 6 (GD)

World Maths Day!

Today it is World Maths Day! To celebrate, I have uploaded some different maths activities for you to have a go at. Please choose the right level of challenge for you. These activities are optional and you may wish to come back and complete them at a later date. Enjoy!

One of my favourite authors is Roald Dahl. I have uploaded some Roald Dahl themed challenges for you to try too! They are uploaded at the bottom of the page for you.

You may choose to spend some time today on Prodigy or Times Table Rockstars. Click on the pictures below to take you to the websites.

Please upload your responses to the maths task on Seesaw. Thank you.

English (1 hour)

Please join us for a live Microsoft Teams input at 10:30am.

If you were not able to join our Teams session, the PowerPoint and the activities are uploaded below. Please work through the PowerPoint before having a go at today's task.

Today we are starting to plan our Haiku. Use your word mat from yesterday to help you. If you already know what your Antarctica Haiku will be about then please start to begin writing some lines for your poem. Remember that a Haiku only has 3 lines and there are rules for each line.

Line 1 has 5 syllables.

Line 2 has 7 syllables.

Line 3 has 5 syllables.

Please have a look at the Haiku poster uploaded at the bottom of the page if you are unsure.

Please spend the whole lesson today planning and starting to write your Haiku. You may want to write down all your ideas and then try to fit it into one or two draft poems. On Friday we will be completing our Haikus.

Is your Haiku going to have a specific theme? Is it going to be about an animal? Is it going to describe the harsh environment? It's up to you!

Please upload your responses to the English task on Seesaw. Thank you.

Newsround

Please watch one episode of Newsround today. You may want to write down your thoughts, like we do at school, or you may want to talk about the episode with an adult at home. Please click on the picture to watch the latest episode of Newsround.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Please upload your responses to the Newsround task on Seesaw. Thank you.

Science (1 hour)

Please start the lesson by watching the video on the BBC Bitesize page and completing all the activities. The link can be found by clicking HERE.

Today we are learning all about skeletons - what they do and what are the different types of skeletons.

To learn about endoskeletons and exoskeletons, please watch THIS video.

Today, please work through the PowerPoint at the bottom of the page. This includes a quiz for you to do if you view it in full screen as a presentation.

There is also a worksheet uploaded at the bottom of the page. Please cut and stick (or draw if you prefer) the animals and sort them into the correct part of the table. Does it have an endoskeleton, an exoskeleton or a hydrostatic skeleton (no bones).

Please upload your responses to the Science task on Seesaw. Thank you.

Computing (1 hour)

Task 1

Today we are continuing our last lesson learning about online safety and how to keep safe when chatting online and playing games.

Please have a go at the next online lesson HERE.

Please ask an adult before clicking on any links.

Task 2

Please use the PowerPoint uploaded at the bottom of the page to guide the next part of the lesson. By clicking on the sound buttons you can listen to my instructions.

We will be using Microsoft Excel during this lesson. You have access to Microsoft Excel through your Office 365 accounts (used to log into our Microsoft Teams live lessons). Try today to create your own graph to show the temperature in Antarctica and in the UK.

Please upload your responses to the Computing task on Seesaw. Thank you.
