‘Nurturing Individual Excellence’

KS2 Sports Day - 22nd June 2018

Date: 2nd Jul 2018 @ 5:03pm

I was lucky enough to watch the KS2 sports day and what an afternoon it was - one of the hottest of the year so far!

Sports day started by the pupils marching around the perimeter of the field dressed in their house colours chanting Merlin, Camelot and Arthur, there was a huge air of excitement.

There were a number of different relay races including obstacle, egg and spoon, sack race and skipping followed by an individual long distance race and sprint.

It was lovely to see so many children taking part in the races. Each pupil had the opportunity to take place in a number of races, with quite a few of the pupils volunteering to take place in most of them. The relays encourage teamwork and sportsmanship and allow as many pupils as possible to take part.

All the parents and staff should be immensely proud of the pupils who showed a willingness to have a good go and try their best and were polite, caring, enthusiastic and encouraging to each other.

Arthur were crowned overall winners of the KS1 and KS2 sports days.

At the end of the day, the children were treated by Friends of Excalibur to an ice pop to cool down - which was a well-deserved treat.

Well done to all involved!
