Excalibur Primary School is committed to inclusion and we want your experience of using our website to be as positive and straightforward as possible. As a primary school, we are partially exempt from the accessibility regulations for public sector bodies.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
We are aware of several accessibility issues with this site including:
· Videos don’t always have audio description, captions or transcripts
· Repeated blocks of content such as the main navigation can’t be skipped using the keyboard
· Headings don’t always follow a hierarchical structure
· Some images don’t have appropriate alternative text
· Some buttons and links aren’t labelled
· Some buttons and links aren’t keyboard operable
· Not all moving content can be paused or stopped
· Changes to content aren’t always announced by screen readers
· Error messages aren’t always descriptive
· Keyboard focus isn’t consistently visible
· Some user interface controls have poor colour contrast
· Some content is difficult to read when resized
Adapting your computer to meet your needs
AbilityNet’s My Computer My Way has advice on adjusting your device’s settings. For example, you can change the text size, change the site colour or read the site aloud using your computer’s accessibility features.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are:
· Reviewing the results of our internal accessibility audit and are taking proportionate action to address the issues found
· Raising awareness of website accessibility issues with key staff
