World Book Day 2025

We had a fantastic World Book Day 2025 here at Excalibur, dressed up as our favourite characters.

We had a special visit from the children's author, Simon Adepetun, and took part in story writing workshops with him. We also paired up with another class for some buddy reading and the staff provided the children with a Masked Reader competition. Within classes, we produced book-inspired artwork and carried out Top Trumps character battles.

The whole school also participated in a variety of writing opportunities inspired by Anthony Browne books, including Year 3 and 4 completing nonsense poems based on 'Through the Magic Mirror'.
