Parent Visits
Parents of prospective pupils
Parents of prospective pupils are welcome to visit the school at any mutually convenient time, arranged in advance with the school office.
Parents of new starters
In June, there will be an evening meeting for the parents of children due to start school in the following September. This meeting will give you the opportunity to, meet the teaching staff, discuss the organisation of the curriculum, visit the classroom, find out about any preparation that would benefit your Child before they start school and raise any questions relating specifically to your child.
Children who are entering the Reception class are invited to spend a morning and afternoon in the classroom with the teacher and children towards the end of the term prior to them starting school. This enables them to become familiar with their new surroundings, to meet the class teacher and to meet other children starting school the same time as themselves.
Parents of current pupils
Parents of all children may visit the school at any time at the start or end of the school day and by prior arrangement with the school office.
We hold “Meet the Teacher” sessions for parents at the beginning of each school year and each teacher sends out Class Newsletters at the beginning of each term to keep parents informed about homework and what their child will be studying. Parents are then better able to support work in school if they wish to.
You will be invited into school during the year for class assemblies and for seasonal productions.
You will receive an annual report on your child’s progress and twice a year the school has Parents Evenings where parents have the opportunity of discussing their child’s progress with the class teacher.
The school has a very supportive group of parents called The Friends of Excalibur who organise fundraising and social events for the school such as Christmas and Summer Fairs. Any parent may come along to meeting
We welcome parental support in school. If you would like to help in school at any time either by supporting the class teacher or doing some very useful jobs please contact us.
